Spend Where Your Dollars Salute Back
Veteran owned businesses in Ventura County that we could confirm from the owner's own website. The list is short on purpose. If you own one, tell Adam and we will add you.
Why this list is short
Most online directories of veteran owned businesses are stale. Shops close, owners sell, and the listing stays up for years. We only list a business when its own website says who owns it. That keeps the list honest. It also keeps it short for now.
Businesses we confirmed
| Business | Town | What they do | What their site says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Romeo Echo | Ventura County | Home sales and home loans, VA loans included | Co-founded by Marine veteran Adam Martinez |
| Fix It Fred Handyman Service | Oxnard | Home repairs and handyman work | Disabled veteran business owned by a retired Navy Seabee |
| Supply Chain Management, Glory to the Lord Investments | Oxnard | Grounds, custodial and facilities work, mostly for government | Service disabled veteran owned small business |
| Poseidon Brewing Company | Ventura | Brewery and taproom on Olivas Park Drive | Co-founded by a Navy underwater construction diver with 23 years of service |
| Aloha Locksmith | Oxnard | Locksmith | Navy veteran owner. The site looks dated, so call first. |
We are not paid for these listings and we have not hired every business on it. Check licenses, reviews and insurance the way you would for anyone.

How to check any business yourself
The U.S. Small Business Administration runs a free Small Business Search. Filter by Ventura County and by veteran owned or service disabled veteran owned certification. Certified firms have proved their ownership to the SBA.
The search leans toward companies that sell to the government. Your favorite coffee shop may be veteran owned and never show up.
Certify your own business
If you own a business, SBA veteran certification is free. It opens the door to federal contracts set aside for veterans, and the bases here buy a lot.
- Veterans must own and control at least 51 percent of the business.
- Register the business in SAM.gov, the federal contractor system. That is free too.
- Apply through the SBA's Veteran Small Business Certification program.
- A service connected disability rating qualifies you for the service disabled category, which has its own set aside contracts.
Thinking about starting a business after you separate? The getting out guide covers local help, and Adam keeps a veteran small business page for owners.
