The 19th Hole Grill at the golf course serves breakfast and lunch on weekdays. The historic Bard Mansion hosts weddings and command events.

Mugu Lanes is temporarily closed. The Point Mugu RV park is closed for renovation with no reopening date posted. The beach hotel, cabins and yurts are open.
Kids and teens
- Child Development Centers: Building 1487 at Port Hueneme, 805-982-4663, and Building 173 at Point Mugu, 805-989-3675. Ages 6 weeks to 5 years. All waitlists run through MilitaryChildCare.com, so sign up the day you get orders.
- Family child care homes: licensed in home providers in Port Hueneme, Point Mugu, Camarillo and Oxnard. Office 805-989-7224.
- Youth sports: ages 3 to 18, Building 1169, 805-982-5337.
- Youth and teen centers: Port Hueneme 805-982-4218, Point Mugu 805-989-7580 and Catalina Heights in Camarillo 805-383-6240.
One official page listed the Point Mugu center as closed for repairs into 2026. Call before you count on it.
Events worth putting on the calendar
MWR promotes the Laguna Peak Challenge, a Halloween Spooktacular and a Turkey Trot each fall. Dates post on the Navy Life NBVC site and Facebook page a few weeks out.
Save real money at the ticket office. Theme park and ski tickets there usually beat gate prices. More ways to save are on the military discounts page.
Questions people ask
Is the Seabee Golf Course open to the public?
Yes, with a golf pass. Civilians apply for base access first, which takes two to three weeks. Call the pro shop at 805-982-2620.
Is there a bowling alley on Naval Base Ventura County?
Yes. NBVC Lanes at Port Hueneme has 16 lanes and a cafe. The bowling center at Point Mugu is temporarily closed.
Where do I buy discount Disneyland tickets on base?
At the MWR ticket offices. Port Hueneme is in Building 1167, 805-982-4284. Point Mugu is in Building 20, 805-989-7628. Both are open weekdays 10 to 6.
