Commissary hours

The Port Hueneme Commissary is at 130 23rd Avenue, Suite 1. It is the only commissary for all of Naval Base Ventura County, so Point Mugu families shop here too.

Holiday hours posted for late 2026: Columbus Day and Veterans Day 9 am to 5 pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Christmas Eve 9 am to 4 pm. New Year's Eve 9 am to 5 pm.

Bring your own bags. This is a bagless store. Keep a few totes in the trunk.

Who can shop

  • Active duty, Guard and Reserve members, retirees and their dependents with a military ID.
  • Since 2020: veterans with a service connected disability rating, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war, Medal of Honor recipients and VA designated primary family caregivers.

Shoppers in the 2020 group pay a small card fee at the commissary, 1.43% on credit and signature debit and 0.36% on PIN debit. Cash and checks carry no fee. First time on base? Enroll at the visitor center before your first trip.

First trip tips

  • Use Knott Gate. The stores are a short drive straight in.
  • Paydays and the first weekend of the month are the busy ones. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings are quiet.
  • Order CLICK2GO the day before your household goods arrive and skip the store entirely.

What are the NBVC commissary hours?

Sunday 11 am to 5 pm, Monday 11 am to 7 pm, Tuesday through Friday 9 am to 7 pm and Saturday 9 am to 6 pm. Holiday hours differ.

Is there a commissary at Point Mugu?

No. The only commissary is at Port Hueneme, 130 23rd Avenue. Point Mugu has a small Navy Exchange.

Can disabled veterans shop at the NBVC commissary?

Yes. Veterans with any service connected disability rating can shop at the commissary and Exchange. Bring your Veteran Health Identification Card and enroll once at the visitor center.
